ICSW

The International Council on Social Welfare (ICSW) is a global non-governmental organisation which represents a wide range of national and international member organisations that seek to advance social welfare, social development and social justice. More information can be found here.

MARUAH (Singapore Working Group for an ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism) is a member of the International Council of Social Welfare.

Miss Braema Mathi is currently the President of the South-East Asia & Pacific Region of ICSW.

Recent news (updated 12 Feb 2012)

  1. The Civil Society Forum held prior to the February UN Commission for Social Development addressed Bridging the Gap to Poverty Eradication  – the Social Protection Floor Initiative. Braema Mathiaparanam, ICSW Regional President for SE Asia and the Pacific and Chairperson/Coordinator, Singapore Working Group for an ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism presented a paper on the subject.
  2. ICSW presented its statement to the UN Commission for Social Development, focusing on poverty eradication. The Commission typically examines a subject over two years, with 2011-12 dedicated to poverty eradication. The statements for 2011 & 2012 can be found in all UN languages below
